Eastie welding shop damaged in fire

EAST ROCHESTER - A fire on Sunday damaged an Eastie welding shop, but quick action by firefighters helped contain the blaze to the garage.

The call came in around 11:30 a.m. for flame showing at 59 Highland St. in East Rochester, home of Taylor Welding.

Strong winds made the task more difficult, but firefighters were able to bring the fire under control fairly quickly.

No one was home at the time of the blaze and no one was injured.

An investigation into the cause is now under way.
