ROCHESTER - Doris C. MacKay, 96, of Rochester died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 11, 1918, in East Rochester, the daughter of the late Raymond and Esther (Brown) Chisholm. Doris has resided in Rochester all of her life and worked as a hairdresser at Junes' Beauty Shop. She worked many years as a stitcher at Tara Shoe Factory. She was an active member of the Grace Baptist Church in East Rochester and was currently a member True Memorial Baptist Church.

She enjoyed watching the birds and loved her dogs. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, embroidering, and doing puzzles. In her younger years she found joy working in her gardens.

Doris was predeceased by her husband Alden J. MacKay in 1990 and their son, Alden R. MacKay in 1985, She is survived by two granddaughters, Debbie Belair, Lynn Garvin; daughter-in-law, Sandra MacKay, all of Strafford; 5 great grandchildren, Allyn Belair, Sarah Arias, Heather Ames, Stephen Garvin and Andrew Garvin; 5 great great grandchildren; niece, Donna Malone of Lebanon, ME nephew, Ronald Malone of New Durham. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/fosters/obituary.aspx?n=doris-c-mackay&pid=173294929&fhid=5741#sthash.vgi2rGvi.dpuf
