ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman arrested in June on child endangerment charges was supposed to have her trial on Monday, but both prosecutors and defense counsel agreed they needed more time to prepare and the case was continued until next year.

Natasha Nailor, 26, of 7B Dora Drive was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class B misdemeanor on June 2.

When Rochester Police arrived at the residence Nailor was "groggy," Sgt. Michael Brinkman said shortly after the arrest.

Police could not divulge the exact age of the young girl, but did say she was under 6.

Dora Drive is a side street off Rochester Hill Road, and the child was less than 100 yards from the busy highway when spotted around 6:15 p.m. by a resident who called police.

Brinkman said the little girl tried several times to wake her mother up before wandering off. He said police had no comment on whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

Nailor was initially bailed on $2.500 personal recognizance. As part of the bail she was to have no contact with her daughter, who was released to relatives.

Phone calls to see if the no-contact order had been rescinded or relaxed were not immediately returned.

Nailor's trial is now set for Jan. 12 in Rochester District Court.
