ROCHESTER - When we began this occasional series on destination dining, we told you it could be a review of a restaurant, a clam shack or a pizza joint.

Well, today we're talking cheesecake cones, and if you're ever lucky enough to try one, you'll agree with us it may be one of the most decadent, evil little confections ever created.

First you start with delicious, creamy cheesecake. Then you add a cone made of encrusted caramel. Finally you drizzle it with butterscotch, or chocolate or whatever your metabolism can withstand. (When they said it was gluten free, we knew we were doomed.)

Just Desserts of New England has a booth at this weekend's Phantom Gourmet BBQ and Country Music Festival at the Rochester Fairgrounds, renamed Tri-City Arena for this and several other summer events.

We were told with a straight face that these cones are only 275 calories, maybe 300. If that's the case, we could probably handle one a month.

But we guarantee you'll want more.

We couldn't even finish ours. We won't tell you how much of it we threw away, but it was substantial. Honest!

The cheesecake is oh-so-delicious and the caramel cone is dope. The drizzle, by the way, is just crazy.

Too pretty to eat? We don't think so! (Courtesy photo/Just Desserts of New England.)

These articles of yumminess are made in Brooklyn, N.Y., and distributed by Just Desserts of New England, who sells them to restaurants.

So far no restaurants in this area carry them, but that's bound to change.

So if you go to the barbecue festival's final day today (and we would go there just for one of these), save some room for a cheesecake cone for dessert. Trust me, if you eat it first, you won't be eating any barbecue!
