3 MES students get kudos for new math initiative

MILTON - Three Milton Elementary School students received recognition as top students in a new mathematics program at the school called "Mathletics."

They are second-grader Lilly Peppers and fourth-graders Emmet Colby and Sam McLaughlin.

Several MES teachers use the online mathematics program called Mathletics to supplement and support math instruction. Students can access the program at school or home, and teachers can assign work and

monitor students' math progress.

Milton Elementary recently received the "Platinum Mathletics School

Award" from Mathletics. MES students have answered 77,047 total fluency and concept-based mathematics questions so far this school year.

Dawane Lewis and Marianne Doane received recognition as "Champion Mathletics Teachers."
