LEBANON - Lebanon selectmen have finalized the referendum ballot question that asks residents to allow them to move town money from various town accounts to cover the Rescue Deficit that came to light late last year.

The final figure of debt owed is roughly $197,000 Selectmen Chair Karen Gerrish said on Monday.

The question will ask voters to appropriate $104,000 of FEMA money and $93,000 drawn from current year budgets to cover the cost.

The FEMA money is as a result of several severe snowstorms over the recent past as well as the ice storm of 2008.

Nearly all town departments pared their budgets by varying amounts, including $16,000 from highway. Some $45,000 was taken from the town contingency fund.

The Budget Committee is expected to render their vote on all the funded ballot questions this week.

The Town Hearing at which selectmen present the warrant to the public is set for Monday, May 19, at Lebanon Elementary School.

The town vote will be June 10.
